KODIAK, ALASKA - Things are improving for two Western Washington fishing boats battling rough seas in Alaska.

The Windjammer from Seattle and the Miss Leona from Bellingham have been in 40 foot seas, 80 mile an hour winds, and freezing spray in the Gulf of Alaska.

Friday morning the Windjammer and her four crew members found better weather, but the Coast Guard says the Miss Leona is still not out of danger of capsizing.

A Coast Guard rescue chopper is standing by in case the crew has to abandon ship.
