SEATTLE - A truck once driven by Gary Ridgway is on its way from Pennyslvania to Seattle where it will be thoroughly searched by the Green River Killings Task Force.

A spokeswoman says it will take a week or two for the pickup to be trucked across the country.

The 1977 Ford F-150 was located in Johnstown, Penn., and King County sheriff's deputies bought it for $2,500.

They plan to conduct a microscopic search of the truck for hair, clothing fibers or even blood.

The truck's last owner was a former Washington resident now serving in the Army reserve.

Task force detectives have been searching for as many as 100 vehicles owned or driven in the past 20 years by Ridgway.

The 53-year-old Auburn man is charged in four of the 49 Green River killings.
