KING COUNTY - A Seattle family is in mourning after a Louisiana man lost control of his pickup and hit two Seattle-area woman.
It happened in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Debra Crouch of Renton was hit first. She escaped with a broken leg. "He hit me, I went up on top of the truck. He hit the wall and backed up and hit my friend and drug her down the street."
Frankie Andrews was just 30.
Some knew her as a loving mother. Others knew her best as Jahnire, an aspiring Seattle model.
However, they knew her, they couldn't forget the smile. Her mother Chalette DelCambre told KOMO 4 News "my daughter is the kind that most women like me would want to have."
Charlette had six children. This is the second time she's had to bury a child. "It's God's law. But it is up to us to figure out why."
Charlette says she's asked why a thousand times. "A thousand times, and I will keep asking until I get the answer, because that answer will set me free."
The driver of the pickup tried to flee but was stopped by people on the street. He faces charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and because Andrews was four months pregnant he also faces a charge of third degree feticide.
