Blue Angels' Fat Albert Forced to Land Suddenly
KING COUNTY - A Blue Angels support plane known as "Fat Albert" had to return to Seattle this morning after a malfunction shut down one of the four engines on the C-130 Hercules.

The plane had just taken off for its next air show at Abbottsford, British Columbia, when it had to dump fuel and land back at Boeing Field.

Several people in the Beacon Hill neighborhood saw the plane flying extremely low, and smelled the jet fuel as it poured out.

Lieutenant Mike Blankenship of the Blue Angeles team says the malfunctioning engine was shut down and the plane landed on three engines.

Fat Albert transports the maintenance and support crew as well as parts and equipment for the Navy's precision flying team that performed last weekend in Seattle.
