MASON COUNTY - Mason County sheriff's deputies are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide.
Deputies responded to a report of gunshots early Monday at a residence near Schafer State Park, near the Grays Harbor County line.
Inside, they found the bodies of Donna Wojahn, 38, and her 36-year-old boyfriend.
"At 3 o'clock this morning I heard a big blast, a gunshot," said Neighbor Nancy Pisconer.
Undersheriff Gary Crane says Wojahn, who was 4-months pregnant, was shot twice. Her boyfriend died of a single shot to the head.
"They were expecting their first baby and she had a 4-year-old boy," said Pisconer. "It's really sad."
Wojhan's son from a previous relationship was not injured. It's not known if he saw the shootings.
"It's a sad situation for the little boy," said neighbor Nettie Alefteras. "He's the one who's going to suffer the most."
Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened.
Neighbors say the two had been together for only four months and often quarreled. But the sheriff's office says there were no calls for domestic violence.
"I think it's just terrible. "I think it's terrible," said neighbor Kathy Buell.
Neighbors are caring for the 4-year-old boy while his father flies in from out of state.
