SEATTLE - At the west wing at Harborview Medical Center, on the 4th floor. If you look around, you can see the pain and sorrow on the faces of the patients.

This is where patients are getting better. Slowly.

It's not a place reserved for laughter. Tears, yes.

But today will be different. Because today, Christine Duggan is stopping by.

The 33-year-old Mount Vernon woman is a karaoke disc jockey. And she's come to share her music, and bring the patients hope.

Because when they look at her, they figure if she can do it, so can they.

Christine is paralyzed from the waist down from a car accident six months ago.

"Wasn't wearing a seat belt. Probably wouldn't have broken my back. I would have been fine. Would have been just fine," says Duggan. "Things happen for a reason. Apparently I'm supposed to be doing karaoke at Harborview!"

In fact Christine recovered here at Harborview. She realized then what her mission had to be.

"I want them to feel good, and have fun", she says.

And forget their troubles for a while.
