BELLEVUE - Bellevue Police are looking for a level three sex offender.
Police say 20-year-old Nathan Edlin is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, and police have a warrant for his arrest.
Police say Edlin lived in the 3800 block of 130th Lane Southeast, but moved away some two months ago and didn't notify the Bellevue Police Department.
"This is a clear pattern, he has done this several times in the city of Bellevue, " said Michael Chiu with the Bellevue Police Department. "We had arrested him for failure to register in the past."
In 1998, Edlin was convicted on two counts of sexual assault on a child in Colorado. Police say Edlin then moved to Washington in March of 2002 and failed to register here. Police stumbled upon him while investigating an unrelated auto-theft case.
Kelley Wixom lives in the Bellevue apartment complex where Edlin used to live. She says she's never seen him but that the complex is big and it would be easy for someone to go unnoticed.
"It actually doesn't surprise me but it disturbs me that there are sex offenders out there," she said.
Wixom hopes police find Edlin. "If I see him I'll definitely call police," said Wixom.
Police say Edlin left his apartment two months ago. It took a while for officers to put out notice because they have to take time to make sure he didn't move to a different state or county and register there.
If you see Edlin or know where he is, do not approach him, just call 911.
