OLYMPIA - It's been a very busy day for the State Patrol.
One person was killed when the car was going southbound on I-5 near Arlington crossed the median and collided head-on with a pickup truck and then hit two other cars late Friday morning.
The driver of the car that crossed the median was killed. There's no word on any injuries to any of the other victims.
Investigators believe the driver may have lost control because of a medical emergency.
Semi Falls Off I-5 Overpass
Meanwhile, in Olympia, State Patrol investigators believe the driver of a truck fell asleep just before it crashed off I-5 near Olympia.
The truck went off an overpass and fell about 25 feet to McAlester Road below.
A passerby helped pull the driver from the cab and he was taken to Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia in serious condition.
Trooper Johnny Alexander says there were reports of the truck driving erratically before the crash about 10 o'clock Friday morning. And there were no skid marks where the truck drifted off the road.
About 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled. It was contained by an ecology crew before it reached a nearby creek.
The truck was carrying Christmas merchandise to a Target store.
