SEATTLE - So many questions.
So little time.
Do you watch a Charlie Brown Christmas, or opt for South Park's story of Christmas poo?
Do you wave, or smile, when someone flips you off for pulling into a mall parking space they thought was theirs?
Why on earth would someone put up a politically correct sign that advertises "Holiday Trees?"
It's 6:02 in the morning and the last $29 DVD player is within your grasp, but you have to step over a trampled shopper to get it.
What do you do?
Do you think Christmas trees that come in a box, with lights and decorations already on them, are really cool?
Are you afraid to say "Merry Christmas" to someone for fear they might be 'crushed' by your insensitivity?
Is it better to give gift cards, or cash?
I guess I'm getting old, but I remember when this time of year brought out better in people.
Christmas was still commercial, but it wasn't so crass.
Somewhere between the time "Merry Christmas" became "Happy Holidays" we lost something.
Not necessarily in a religious sense, but certainly in a social, cultural way.
So, my final question: Don't we want at least some of that back?
