Toy Drive For Sick Kids
SNOHOMISH COUNTY - The men who run penny-arcade.com have taken giving to the next level.
"Basically what we've done is try to organize all the toys as much as possible, these are all for Children's Hospital," explained Brad Walker as he showed us his garage, stuffed with toys. Brad Walker, Mike Krahuik, and crew locally run the online forum for video game and comic book lovers. They have 150,000 readers a day and thought it would be nice, since they love games, to give games for Christmas. The goal was to collect about 100 toys to give to Seattle's Children's Hospital. "We probably received 100 toys the first half an hour," said Walker. In just a week 100 toys has turned into thousands from a wish list they put together under the name "Child's Play" on Amazon.com. We've all heard the controversies over video games and what happens to the people who play them. But these men want everyone to know that all the 'Gamers' are overwhelmingly giving. "They were right when they said video gamers would grow up abnormal. They did, in fact, grow up with big hearts," said Walker. The deadline to donate is December 15th and all of this will be delivered to Children's Hospital on December 22nd. The group still needs help transporting the gifts. For More Information: |
