SEATTLE - Well, I think I'm off PETA's Christmas card list. (See commentary
here.)
Ditto Abercrombie & Fitch. (See commentary here.)
And while there may be a few in the politically correct crowd who may still send me "Holiday Greetings", I don't think their heart will really be in it. (See commentary here.)
"Slam Schram" was a popular theme in a fair share of the e-mail I've gotten over the last week, like this one from Stuart Perkins: "In rebutting PETA's ad, you've turned yourself into a jerk... Some people would like to live in harmony with animals instead of eating them... My holiday wish for you is that you grow up!"
Dawn James also found my PETA remarks annoying: "It affirms why I race to the remote whenever KOMO airs your commentaries."
Of course, the politically correct crowd was mostly, well, politically correct in its criticism of my "Merry Christmas" vs. "Happy Holidays."
Phoebe Pogson: "I believe the transition to 'Happy Holidays' reflects an expansion socially and culturally...(acknowledging) the spectrum of religions and beliefs..."
On my blast at Abercrombie, Dallas Keefe writes: "I go to West Seattle High (School) and think (they) have some really cute clothing...(besides) now you have to be 18 to order that catalog."
By the way, to the Cllalam Bay Prison inmate who wrote asking if I'd help him get a copy of that catalog: I don't think so.
You write 'em, I'll read 'em, and I'll answer as many as I can.
