KING COUNTY - The "Whispering Bandit" has struck again. This time, the man who targets local video stores hit in Redmond.

Police say it happened about 10 p.m. Thursday. As in previous cases, the suspect whispered to the clerk that he had a gun, then made off with some cash.

Detectives say he's hit eight other video stores in Seattle, and maybe one more in Kirkland.

Earlier this week, he robbed two stores within a 24 hour span including the Blockbuster at 135th and Aurora.

Even though he's quiet, he's very demanding.

"This guy was real cordial," said Chris Parker who manages the Greenwood Island Video store that was hit Monday, the second time in three weeks. At first Parker said the robber wandered around the store, acting like a customer. He struck once a female clerk was alone. He told her, "Real simple, just like put the money on the counter, I've got a gun," explained Parker.

Several surveillance cameras captured the "Whispering Bandit" in action. He always wears a blue ballcap and black hooded jacket.

The bandit is a white man, between 35 and 40-years old, with a slim build and unkempt appearance.

As a precaution Parker plans to keep less money in the till and add a surveillance camera. In addition to that, female clerks won't be left alone.

Since the bandit has already returned once, Parker fears he will come back again.

"Of course it's always a worry, a lot of times you just have to go about your business but it's always in the back of your head."
