SEATTLE - A former Seattle Seahawk running back is now on Washington State's most wanted list. The list is maintained by the Division of Child support.

Chris Warren was ordered to pay $5,000 a month to the mother of his two children. Monique Mulloy says Warren made regular payments when he was playing football.

But then he started paying only half the amount. And after she complained to the state, he didn't pay anything.

Monique Mulloy told KOMO 4 News: "Not only did he stop child support, but he cut off all communication with them and that's been really hard for them."

No. 42 Chris Warren was a Seahawk star. A $3 million a year man.

He earned it. Breaking tackles was his specialty.

Now he's breaking a court order. In Mulloy's words: "I was told, 'it's coming, it's coming. It'll be in your account,' and it wasn't."

The state tried to find Warren to order him to pay, but now, as in 1997, Chris Warren runs well in the open field.

The state hit dead end after dead end.

His last known address is a P.O. Box in Virginia. It's registered to a home, but he doesn't live there.

KOMO 4 News also tried to locate Warren. Our efforts were unsuccessful. A telephone number we found had been disconnected.

The feds tracked his Social Security number, but found he either doesn't have a job or is self-employed.

The state tells KOMO 4 News it wants the feds to issue a nationwide contempt order.

"When you get to this point, that you are placed on the most wanted site, it is a measure of last resort," said Adolfo Capestany of the Division of Child Support.

Yes, the state has a "most wanted site" for so called deadbeat parents. And right there, is Chris Warren. The total bill is over $100,000.

The state called Monique three months ago to tell her of the list. She debated for three months before saying do it: "This is personal information about me and my children and the father of my child. But I had to look at it as I didn't make that choice he did. He was notified; they gave him every opportunity. He had only to make one payment or contact somebody. So in essence he made the choice not me."

The state says it has no idea where Warren is right now. They are asking for tips and promising they will be treated confidentially.

In the five years the state has had a "Most Wanted List," there have been 500 men and women on the list. Half of them have been found and some support arrangement has been worked out.

Former Sonic On The List Too

Another prominent name on the state's most wanted list is a former Seattle Sonics player.

Vernon Maxwell played for the Sonics in 1999. He owes $34,000 for a child living in our state.

He owes even more in the state of Florida -- $160,000 to a teenaged son there.

He's been arrested and is expected back in court in that case next month.
