2 Injured In Small Plane Crash
EASTON, WASH - A small plane crashed Tuesday in the hills north of this town about 70 miles east of Seattle, injuring both people on board.

Kittitas County Undersheriff Clay Myers said the four-passenger Piper Cherokee went down in the Thorp Mountains between Lake Kachees and Lake Cle Elum, near Interstate 90.

Myers said sheriff's deputies were speaking by radio with the pilot, but had not reached the wreckage.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said the Washington state Department of Aeronautics dispatched a helicopter to the scene. The Piper was flying from Wenatchee to Boeing Field in Seattle, he said.
