A strong thunderstorm rolled through the Stanwood area, and several people called the National Weather Service saying they saw a tornado.
The service says they haven't been able to confirm anything yet, but that the radar also indicated weak rotation as the storm moved through just after 6 p.m.
A Snohomish County Sheriff's deputy says he has video confirmation of the tornado near Mile Post 210 off of I-5. We're looking into it.
The thunderstorms were expected to taper off Saturday night, but more showers and thunderstorms were possible Sunday.
There have been five confirmed tornadoes in the state since late April. The first was in Sumas in April 27, then one in East Wenatchee and one near Spokane in mid May. Last week, we had two tornadoes touch down -- one near Tenino and another in Clark County near La Center.
We only average one in the state per year.
