SEATTLE - Lauren Jackson scored 22 points and Kamila
Vodichkova added a season-high 18 to lead the Seattle Storm to a
68-63 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Friday night.
After the Sun cut a nine-point deficit to three points with 8:19
left, Jackson, last season's WNBA MVP, scored seven points in a 9-0
run that pushed the Storm's lead to 66-54 with 3:15 left.
The Sun scored nine of the next 10 points and cut their deficit
to four with 11 seconds remaining.
Vodichkova made one of two free throws to extend Seattle's lead
to five points, and Asjha Jones' 3-point try with five seconds left
was blocked by Jackson.
The Storm improved to 4-0 at home this season and have won 16 of
their last 19 games at Key Arena.
Katie Douglas and Jones added 13 points apiece for Connecticut.
Leading scorer Nykesha Sales was held to six points.
Vodichkova added 10 rebounds, while Sue Bird and Betty Lennox
each scored seven points.
Connecticut led only twice, with its last lead coming at 21-20
with eight minutes remaining in the first half. Seattle responded
with an 10-3 run and held a five-point lead at the break.
