Second Arrest In Everett Grocery Store Arson
EVERETT - Everett police have arrested a second man in connection with an arson at grocery store this summer.

Naveed Muhammad Khan was arrested on charges of arson, relating to the fire at Continental Spices. He's accused of helping the store owner Mirza M. Akram, destroy his own business on July 9.

Akram was arrested for suspicion of arson last month.

Investigators say the two men doused the business with gasoline, spray painted 'FU Arab' on the walls to make it look like a hate crime, then set the place on fire.

Investigators say Akram allegedly was having financial difficulties with the business. They allege he burned the business to eliminate the losses and potentially recover money through an insurance claim.

The business sold groceries and spices from the Middle East.
