SEATTLE - KOMO 4 viewers keep on giving! We have another big donation to help a young man paralyzed in a diving accident.
His name is Josh Campbell. When we found out that cold hearted thieves stole donations meant for Josh, we stepped in. You stepped in to help this 22-year-old Snohomish man, father of a 4-year-old, who is paralyzed from the lower chest down.
We presented the family with a check for $2,200.
A local contractor saw our story and said he wanted to help. So, Tad Brehan is building wheelchair ramps for Josh and making his home wheelchair accessible.
Now this!
William Bates heard about Josh and contacted me. He knew Josh needed a van with a wheelchair lift. And so he wanted to donate it to the Campbells. The Van belonged to his mom who passed away last year. She had multiple sclerosis.
"You surprised me... that's for sure," said Josh with a smile.
He hasn't had much to smile about these days. And last week, Josh says, the mother of his child left him.
We first heard about Josh just after Memorial Day when two suspects stole from a donation jar meant for Josh. Police are still searching for the suspect, but the search for the Van has stopped. Thanks to KOMO 4 viewer William Bates.
Thank you.
