If that was you, collect now.
Some arctic air trickled out of the Fraser River Valley, dropping the temperatures juuuuust low enough near the valley's outflow to combine with some rain moving in to bring the season's first snow to western Whatcom County.
Snow was reported in Lynden, Bellingham, and Ferndale -- about 1/2 inch as of 9:50 p.m. A SNOW ADVISORY was in effect for Monday night for that area for about 1-2" of snow total by daybreak.
The snow will melt away as the sun comes up Tuesday morning, but it'll sure be pretty to look at.
Meanwhile, green will be the color elsewhere -- both on the lawns and on the kids' envious faces when they have to go to school as usual. But the season's just getting started kids, so hang in there.
