Listen To Your Favorite Book
No matter your taste, there's a story for everyone. Whether your preference is Mario Puzo's "The Godfather," or a commentary on America's foreign policy by author P.J. O'Rourke, you can now "listen" to some real classics.
"We are the first public library in the country that has gone 'live' with this system," says Marcia Iverson with the King County Library System. She says some aspects of the downloadable books are just like regular library books.
"While they're checked out to someone, you may have to wait until a copy becomes available," Iverson says.
You simply go online, reserve an audio book, and when your title is available, you can download it directly from the Web. All for the price of a library card, which is free.
Under a licensing agreement, King County libraries have a limited number of audio copies of each book. So, in order to make sure they get circulated properly, Angie Benedetti says in 28 days, the material will disappear from your computer.
"Digital rights management software is what ensures the material disappears off of your hard drive," says Benedetti.
