SEATTLE - I bet Christine Gregoire's already got her dress picked out for the Governor's Ball.
But then, Dino Rossi's tux is probably cleaned and hanging ready in the closet.
Who will be going to the big dance?
What with "mystery voters" and such murking up the political waters, there's a movement afoot for a brand new election.
Oh joy.
I don't know about you, but I'm not up to spending millions of dollars more on another contentious bout of vote tallying.
Instead, why don't we just hire Alex Trebek and have Rossi and Gregoire go at it in a winner-take-all round of "Jeopardy?"
Not only would that be cheaper than another election, it'd be way more entertaining.
I thought about the candidates doing a version of "The Price is Right", but concluded it just wouldn't be fair to have politicians trying to guess what things actually cost.
"Wheel of Fortune" is out because Gregoire would do nothing but buy vowels, and Rossi would never put up with having to spin to the left.
All things considered, I think a game show theme is far more appropriate than a new election.
Not only are game shows better regulated, but at the end of 30 minutes, there is always a clear winner.
Besides, "Jeopardy" would finally give this election fiasco a much needed touch of class.
