8-Year-Old Boy Injured When Hit By SUV

FEDERAL WAY - An 8-year-old boy is recovering from serious injuries at Harborview Medical Center after being hit by a car.

Police say the child was riding a small off-road motorcycle near his driveway in the 2100 block of 322nd Street SW and might have pulled out from the driveway onto the street when he was stuck, pinning him underneath.

His dad, neighbors, and the driver of the car all lifted the SUV off the child using a jack.

The child was then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. He was wearing a helmet.

Police say there is no reason to believe that alcohol or speed was a factor, and the add the driver remained on scene and has been cooperative throughout their investigation.
