DUI Strips At SeaTac Bars

SEATAC -

Police are distributing over 1300 Personal Alcohol Test Strips to bars and restaurants in the City of SeaTac.  The test strips allow persons who have been drinking to test themselves to see if they might have had too much to drink.   It tests alcohol in saliva, and is a fairly accurate indicator of blood-alcohol content. 

The goal is for drinkers to use the strips and realize they are close or above the legal limit, and to opt to use a designated driver, stay in a hotel, or call a cab, rather than driving.

 Police are passing out the free strips now in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day and the coming weekend.   Flyers will be posted letting patrons know the self-test is available.
