SEATTLE - A Seattle Police motorcycle officer is recovering at Harborview after being injured in a crash on I-5 Monday just before noon.

The officer was on his way to a reported police standoff in the Lake City area via I-5 north when he collided with another vehicle near the Spokane Street exit, according to Officer Sean Whitcomb with Seattle Police.

The officer reportedly suffered a broken leg and was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. No one in the other car was hurt.

Several lanes were blocked for about 30 minutes before most of the lanes were reopened.
