SEATTLE - So it all comes down to this: Statistical analysis.
For all the Republican Party's pronouncements; for all the Democratic Party's insistence, the hinge on the door to the governor's office may swing on nothing more than guessing how many illegal votes each candidate got last November.
Isn't that special.
The court might as well flip a coin or deal out a hand of poker.
I didn't think I could be more fed up with the whole process (fiasco?) surrounding our state's election for governor.
Boy, was I wrong.
To have pushed this matter to the point of "proportional deduction" shows the depths to which state politics has really sunk.
And I still say that the most frustrating thing about this whole mess is that, in the end, it won't mean squat.
Anyone believing (not hoping) Christine Gregoire is to be booted from office, raise your hand.
Ultimately, Republicans will have a new conspiracy theory to play with, while Democrats will be dogged with having fostered a fake governor off on everyone.
I'd be feeling better if I thought this was nearing its end.
But it's not.
Because no matter what happens out of the trial later this month, you can bet the house that the losing side will kick it up to the State Supreme Court.
Hey...as long as they're statistically subtracting votes, can I take mine back?
