You Can't Spell 'IDIOT' Without 'KVI'
SEATTLE - John Carlson and Kirby Wilbur obviously have too much time on their hands.

KVI's maliciously mischievous duo has concocted a scheme that's big on talk, short on substance.

That's up to their usual standard.

They're pushing an initiative to repeal the 9.5 cent gas tax passed by lawmakers.

Carlson and Wilbur's on-air bluster is appealing to anyone who hates taxes, which is just about everyone.

But then I'd hope that everyone recognizes that, one way or another, we will still pay.

We can choose to pay in gas tax money, or we can pay in having our bridges and roads disintegrate under us.

As for those Eastern Washington whiners who say the gas tax increase is heavily weighted in favor or Western Washington projects: Put a cork in it.

Not only have you gotten your wheat field road fixes, get a clue that your economy "over there" is tied to road improvements "over here."

I'm no fan of a state legislature that's often incompetent and out of touch, but in this instance, lawmakers - from both sides of the aisle - did what was needed.

Carlson and Wilbur want to undo it.

Just goes to show: You can be sincere, and still be stupid.
