Avoid Imposter Credit Report Sites

Then you'd better make sure you know how to get it. If not, you could wind up paying for that free report; or worse yet, you could hand over your personal information to a crook.
The right site, the only site to use is: www.annualcreditreport.com. It was set up by the federal government.
But the World Privacy Forum warns that there are lots of imposters out there. "We found that there are over 200 sites that are pretending to be the real site, says Pam Dixon, the group's Executive Director.
She says these fake sites, either grab your Social Security number and sell it to someone, or they send you to a website where you are going to pay a charge to get you credit report."
