OLYMPIA - Olympia school officials say they expect to meet an Aug. 31 deadline for finishing a mold removal project at Capital High School.

All the mold has been cleared and the bottom few feet of all contaminated walls have also been removed. Workers now are wrapping up the project's second stage, which involves replacing the wall sections with mold-resistant sheet rock.

The insulation and carpeting also has to be replaced. And the affected areas must be repainted and cleaned.

The mold was found last month. Workers have been putting in six-day weeks to make sure all of the abatement and restoration gets done by the end of the month.
