REDMOND - King County public health officials have confirmed a case of measles in an adult exposed to the virus while traveling abroad.
The person visited public areas in Redmond between Aug. 16 and Aug. 20.
Measles is a highly contagious viral infection that can be transmitted through coughing or sneezing. Symptoms include high fever and a red rash.
Vaccinations against measles provide protection against the disease.
Public health officials said the infected person visited the following areas:
- Malay Satay Hut, 15230 NE 24th St., Redmond, WA 98052 on
August 16th 2005, from 12-3 p.m.
- Thai Ginger at Redmond Town Center, 16480 NE 74th Street on
August 20th from 8-11 p.m.
- Microsoft -- Redmond Campus, One Microsoft Way, Building #40,
Redmond, WA on August 16, 17, 18 and 19, all day.
- Microsoft -- Cafeteria, One Microsoft Way, between Building
#40 and #41, Redmond, WA on August 17, 18 and 19, 11:30 am to 4:00
pm.
