Cayuse, Chinook, North Cascades Passes Closed For Season
SEATTLE - The state Transportation Department has closed Cayuse Pass for the season because of heavy snow and avalanche danger.

The pass on Washington 410 has been shut down since Friday. The department decided Tuesday not to reopen it until spring.

Cayuse Pass connects Chinook and White passes on the east side of Mount Rainier. Chinook passed closed Friday for the winter, and the department closed the North Cascades Highway on Monday for the season because of snow in North Cascades National Park.

Snoqualmie Pass is open but restricted to one 35 mph lane in each direction at the scene of a rockslide east of the summit.
