SEATTLE - Here's a ScamBusters alert for anyone with a Window's based computer. An email that appears to be from the FBI or the CIA is circling the globe. The email claims that you "visited more than 30 illegal" Web sites and that you need to answer some questions. This email is a hoax! It's designed to get you to drop your guard and click the attachment. Don't do it!
The attachment contains the Sober-X worm that will disable your security programs and give hackers access to your machine. This will let them steal your personal information or hijack your machine, to use it to send out their spam messages.
Security experts say Sober-X is the worst computer worm of the year. Once installed on your PC, it will send itself to everyone in your address book.
