They spent their entire weekend outside a Lynnwood grocery store, trying to collect 100,000 food donations.
Meadowdale High School students and Edmonds firefighters teamed up for the food drive because food banks around the region have seen a dramatic drop in donations this year.
"It's up to the community around here to help support other families that are needy right now in the season for Christmas and Thanksgiving. (it's time to) come together as a community," said Michelle Marshall.
Students are also holding a food drive in their school that runs through Friday, Dec. 9.
