TACOMA - Tacoma police say three people found slain Wednesday were all shot.
The medical examiner Friday identified the victims as 28-year-old Darren Christian, who had lived in the home for about two years, and a friend of his, 21-year-old Lindy Cochran of Auburn. The third victim was identified as 22-year-old Daniel Varo, who had moved into the house about two weeks ago, but had formally lived in Port Orchard.
No one has been arrested, and police have not indicated what the motive might have been. But friends of Christian told KOMO 4 News he kept a safe in his bedroom and sometimes it had large amounts of money. Police would not comment on that report.
There was no sign of forced entry in the home and friends of the two dead men say a dog in the house, Snapper, would have barked incessantly if someone with whom he was not familiar had entered the house.
For that reason, they believe, the killer must have known at least some of the victims. Police will only say the killing does not appear to be random.
The house is located near Sixth Avenue and South Union, a busy corner a couple of blocks south of the University of Puget Sound campus in Tacoma's North End.
