MOUNTLAKE TERRACE - Police have arrested a possible serial rapist accused of finding his victims on the popular Web site, MySpace.com. Detectives are investigating an Issaquah man for two rapes so far, and they say there may be more.

With the help of MySpace, police figured out the suspect's name and where he lived. Mountlake Terrace Police convinced him come in to the police department to meet with a detective - who booked him after the interview.

Jonathan Reese, 31, was arrested for the allegedly raping one woman and is under investigation for the rape of another.

Police say he met both victims online and spent several weeks grooming them.

"He worked his way into more than just online chat, with actual meetings and then other things. We think there is probably ably more victims out there," said Detective Sgt. Mark Connor of Mountlake Terrace Police.

On MySpace, Reese went by the user name "JMR-269." His Web page says his interests are camping, hiking and just relaxing with a good glass of wine.

He last logged on two days ago and computer records show he has been talking with a lot of women.

"What we want to do is encourage anyone who may have had contact with him and feel that they too may be a victim, to contact their local police department or our department," said Connor.

Police say Reese convinced the women to give out their home addresses so he could meet them in person. Investigators say he used MySpace to get plenty of personal information first.

In the Mountlake Terrace rape, he's accused of telling the victim he would hurt her daughter if she didn't comply.

Police remind everyone that this is a chilling warning for all online chatters.

"To do that and then invite someone to your home based upon only that which you know from conversations on the Internet is really taking a significant risk, and I urge people to be very cautious," said Mountlake Terrace Police Chief Doug Smith.

Reese admits to meeting the women but insists the sex was consensual. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. MySpace.com says it can't comment on the case, but that it is helping police in the investigation.
