Watada A Disgrace To The Uniform
SEATTLE - There's nothing complicated about this.

Ehren Watada enlisted in the military - after the invasion of Iraq.

He willingly went through officer training.

Now he says he's had a change of heart; a flash of conscience which has turned into a moral revelation.

Watada says he won't go to Iraq because he's decided that it's an unlawful war.

When the time comes and he actually refuses orders to deploy, I'll be looking forward to the military hauling his sorry butt off to prison.

Besides the fact that there's nothing in this guy's biography to indicate he's a constitutional scholar, I think his so-called "epiphany" about war is as phony as his rationale for not wanting to go.

Make no mistake: I remain adamantly opposed to the war in Iraq.

I think it should be ended and American troops brought home as quickly as possible.

But Ehren Watada is NOT the one to make that call, or force that issue.

That not the way it works in the military.

It can't work that way.

As for those anti-war activists who seem to be supporting what this guy is doing: Get a clue.

You're being duped and played for suckers.

Ehren Watada should be as much of a disgrace in your eyes as he is in the eyes of every other man and woman in uniform.

And there's nothing complicated about it.
