Movie Rating Alerts
SEATTLE - Seems like you can get an e-mail alert for just about anything these days. You can add movie ratings to that list.
The Motion Picture Association of America's rating board now has a service called Red Carpet Ratings.
Parents who sign up get an e-mail each Tuesday, in their computer or handheld device, listing the latest releases, how they rated and why they got that rating.
For instance, you'll learn that Lassie is PG because of some mild violence and language. The Wicker Man is PG-13 because of disturbing images and violence. And should the kids tell you they want to see Beerfest, you'll know that it's rated R because of all the crude and sexual content, plus nudity and substance abuse.
