Man Arrested In Coffee Stand Robberies
AUBURN - A 32-year-old Auburn man jailed for
investigation of a coffee stand robbery is suspected in a total of
seven such hold-ups in the past week.
The man was caught Wednesday night in a grocery story parking lot in Auburn, after police received a tip from his mother.
The "Moka Girls" espresso stand was robbed twice by the suspect.
The owner put in a surveillance camera after the first robbery, and then the robber came back again.
"I saw him and I'm like 'no way I'm opening the window, you robbed me on Friday. I'm not stupid,' " she said. "And he showed me the rock he was about to put through the window and I was like 'I can have a broken window and no money or I could have no money and an intact window so I just opened and let him have what he wanted."
The suspect was booked into the Auburn Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery.
