For months, the organizers of Timber! Outdoor Music Festival, a popular summer music festival that debuted this year in Carnation, have been teasing that they have something big in the works. Today, the announced their newest project: Timbrrr!, a second weekend, slated for January in Leavenworth.

Timber!, a joint operation between King County Parks and the organizers behind Doe Bay Festival, was born this year out of a desire to bring well-known and up-and-coming artists together on one weekend bill, while also supporting the city hosting festival, and placing an emphasis on Washington's outdoor activities. Similarly, the winter counterpart is equal parts music festival and ski weekend getaway.

"The idea of a winter-themed festival is something that we have been brainstorming and wanting to see come to life for about five years now," says Timber! co-founder Kevin Sur.

"We wanted to come up with a way to celebrate a different season outside of summer, creating another unique experience in a beautiful setting. Having Timber! Outdoor Music Festival do as well as it did really gave us the courage to finally move forward with a winter themed festival."

In today's announcement, the organizers promised packages to local ski resorts at special prices, as well as "a variety of outdoor options such as: skiing, tubing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing."

"Those who prefer warmer options can use their Timbrrr! tickets to freely bounce around the beautiful town of Leavenworth to enjoy live music at a handful of local establishments throughout the day," according to the announcement.

And while Timber! works to be family-friendly, there are also incentives for grown-ups with no kids.

"At night, guests 21 and over will congregate at the Leavenworth Festhalle for an evening of great music from 5pm until late. There will even be a 'Hot Toddy Garden' full of great winter warmers," promises the release.

The lineup has not been announced, but, says Sur, it's going to be good.

"We're still working on the lineup and also want to give artists a chance to submit to perform at this as well. I can tell you that you can expect some alumni from our previous festivals mixed in with others who haven't," he explained.

The summer festival's bill included The Helio Sequence, Fruit Bats, Ivan & Alyosha, Lemolo and Noah Gundersen.

Tickets for Timbrrr! go on sale on October 15. More information is available here
