As the 12th Man tries to break a world record for noise at CenturyLink this weekend, the actual Man will be keeping an eagle eye on all those Hawks. The Seahawks have announced that police -- dressed in San Francisco 49ers gear -- will be patrolling the stands and ejecting fans who get a little too raucous.

The beefed-up undercover security isn't mean to be punitive; Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin said in a statement that, like the NFL's new rule that fans may only carry clear plastic bags, the point was to encourage safety for fans, regardless of who they root for.

"Our goal is to ensure a safe environment for all in attendance, including visiting team fans," he noted.

Sunday's game is sold out, due in part to the attempt to set a Guinness World Record. The large crowds may even be overwhelming for the SPD officers charged with keeping an eye on things; they're asking that members of the crowd help out by texting HAWK12 (429512) to report problematic fans.

Fans may not realize that being ejected from CenturyLink comes with a hefty penalty; those who are asked to leave may not attend another event until they complete a four-hour, $75 online class on sportsmanship. Season ticket holders may even have their passes revoked if they are found to be causing problems.

The game is already going to be expensive to attend. A recent report by CNN Money found that second-hand tickets were selling for close to $300, and that Seahawks fans pay some of the highest beer prices in the league.

Abusive language, apparent drunkenness, smoking or tobacco use, interferring with the game, and harassing the opposing team's fans are all offenses that could result in being removed from the stadium.
