The new report on cell phones and the possible link to brain cancer has a lot of people talking.

The World Health organization says the radio frequency energy given off by cell phones may energy increases the risk of a rare brain tumor for heavy users -- those who have a wireless phone next to their ear for an average of 30 minutes a day for 10 years.

"It doesn't' mean we have to panic," says Dr. Oz. "It just means that we have to rethink the way we use cell phones."

Oz says right now, there's only one thing we know for certain.

"We know that when you expose brain cells, any cells, to radio frequency energy from a cell phone they can change."

Oz says until we know for sure if there's a problem, we should do the prudent thing - keep our distance.

"If you don't have to be next to the cell phone, don't be."

He says that's especially important for kids.

"I don't think that you ought to be using a cell phone by your ear for more than 30 minutes a day. Either use a corded ear bud or use it on a speaker phone."

Just that little bit of distance between the phone and your head, he says, makes a dramatic impact on how much of that energy hits your brain.
