We work out and eat healthy to keep our bodies young and tight. So why not do what we can to put our best face forward?
With new injectable wrinkle fillers and relaxers, anything is possible. Botox and its new competitor, Reloxin, temporarily paralyze muscles so they can't contract smoothing wrinkles that are created when you make facial expressions.
"They generally will fix a line or wrinkle for up to about six to 12 months," said dermatologist Anne Chapas, M.D.
Another option is collagen injections. They give skin a plumper, smoother appearance.
"Collagen is actually a filler. It actually fills the wrinkle or fills the hollow in your face," said beauty editor Leesa Suzman.
Then there are the no-needle alternatives. Experts say they don't rival Botox in strength, but some products, like fusion beauty lift fusion magic wand provide modest softening of wrinkles.
In the right hands, you can see some amazing results, but there are risks. If you do not go to a trained medical professional, you could run into some problems.
In untrained hands or if overused, the toxin in Botox could lead to a face-freezing or a drooping effect. Ask your doctor how long he or she has been using the drug before beginning injections.
Synthetic fillers prompt your body to make its own collagen, but it could take months to see results.
