The Web is filled with places to shop -- so many it's impossible to keep track of them all.

Here are a few cool sites you might want to check out. They all get a thumbs up from the editors at ShopSmart magazine.

A site called Alice is a great place to buy basics, such as toothpaste, toilet paper and detergent. You save money because in many cases, you order goes directly to the manufacturer. Clickable coupons can save you even more. Buy six items or more and Alice will ship them to you for free.

ShopSmart says IMshopping is best for locating stuff. Ask a question, such as "Which handheld system has the best games?" and you'll get an answer from a person, not a shopping robot.

Despite the name, this isn't instant messaging. But the site says the shopping expert who does the research will get back to you in 15 minutes or less.

And then there's NetHaggler, a place for those who like to bargain. You can "nag" a merchant for a lower price or join a group and "haggle" for a better deal. Participating retailers include: Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target and Tiffany's. There's Best Buy, Macy's Toys R Us and Office Depot.

Like.com has a neat feature I really like. If you see something you like - let's say you see a belt buckle you really like - take your mouse and put a circle around it. The site's search engine will then find more items with that same sort of buckle.
