FTC hopes web game will teach kids about advertising

Admongo is a new online video game designed to teach kids about advertising, and it's the brainchild of the Federal Trade Commission.
"We want kids to ask themselves, anytime they see an ad, who's responsible for this ad, what is the ad actually saying and what does it want me to do?" says the Jennifer Leach with the FTC.
Leach says kids create an avatar that works its way up through various levels.
"Where you learn to identify advertising, figure out the techniques that advertisers use to try to catch your attention, learn about targeting and then in the end use all of your knowledge to create your own advertising."
If you'd like you kids to be better prepared to swim in a sea of advertising -- tell them to check out Admongo.gov.
