Naughty or Nice? Consumer Reports ranks companies for customer service
Consumer Reports is out with this year's "Naughty and Nice" list: companies the editors believe deserve a thumbs up or thumbs down for how they treat customers.

Nordstrom makes the "nice" list for its website that offers free shipping and free returns on all orders.

Kohl's gets a thumbs up for its "No Questions Asked - Hassle Free" returns policy both online and in stores. It applies to all purchases, and there are no time restrictions.

Other companies' return policies could leave you with a big lump of coal.

That's why Tiger Direct is on the "naughty" list. Senior editor Tod Marks says Tiger Direct has a laundry list of conditions you have to meet to return something or you pay a penalty.

"They can hit you with a restocking fee of up to 25 percent. That's more than most other companies charge."

Consumer Reports says Home Depot has a "nice" policy when it comes to major appliances like refrigerators and stoves. It will haul away your old appliance after setting up your new one eliminating the hassle of your finding someone to take it away.
