SEATTLE -- A woman babysitting three children early Sunday in Delridge suffered multiple cuts to her hands and legs when someone threw a football-sized rock through a large picture window directly above where she was napping, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the victim was dozing on the couch in the 7300 block of 28th Avenue Southwest around 1:15 a.m. with the curtains open and the lights and TV on when a rock was thrown through the window above her.

Flying shards of glass cut the victim on her hands and legs, deep enough to possibly require stitches. She jumped off the couch and noticed the front gate to the home was open but didn't see anyone.

After checking to make sure the children she was babysitting were OK, the victim noticed her iPhone, which had been sitting on the arm of the couch, was missing. Officers believe whoever threw the rock reached in through the broken window and stole the phone.

A neighbor, who called 911 after hearing glass break and a woman scream, didn't see anyone leaving the scene. Officers, who were in the area within four minutes, also didn't notice anyone suspicious.

Neither the victim nor the home's resident could think of anyone who would have targeted them specifically.
