Charges: Hyatt harasser spied on, groped woman in hotel restroom
A man has been charged with spying on and groping a woman in a restroom at the Hyatt Hotel in Bellevue.

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A 28-year-old man who apparently spent the early mornings of his spring sexually harassing female customers and employees at the Hyatt Hotel in Bellevue has finally been arrested after groping one victim in a hotel bathroom stall, according to charges filed last week in King County Superior Court.

According to the charging documents, the 25-year-old victim was waiting for friends shortly before 2 a.m. April 26 in the lobby of the Hyatt at 900 Bellevue Way when she had to use the bathroom.

The victim entered a stall in the first-floor public restroom and was in the process of sitting down when she spotted Aqdas Hussain Malik peering under the divider from the neighboring stall, according to the charging documents.

The victim later told officers Hussain Malik quickly crawled into her stall and grabbed her upper thigh. She screamed and chased him out of the restroom.

According to the charging documents, the victim alerted hotel security, but Hussain Malik was able to escape.

Police were called back to the Hyatt shortly before 2:30 a.m. May 18 for reports of Hussain Malik sexually harassing a female customer. Officers, unaware Hussain Malik was responsible for the earlier groping, issued him a warning, according to the charging documents.

Hussain Malik was responsible for a third call to police after reportedly being very sexually aggressive to female customers and employees in the Hyatt bar around 12:40 a.m. May 25. He was banned from the Hyatt following that incident.

On June 4, the victim from the April 26 groping picked Hussain Malik out of a photo montage, and he was arrested.

Hussain Malik has been charged with voyeurism and assault and is being held on $100,000 bail.

He has previous convictions for trespassing, assault, theft and patronizing a prostitute.
