Man suspected of being state's biggest downloader of child porn arrested

GIG HARBOR, Wash. -- Detectives arrested a man suspected of being the state's biggest downloader of child pornography Thursday after more than 9,000 images of minors involved in sexually explicit activity were found on his computers and other devices, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The investigation by the State Patrol's Missing and Exploited Children's Task Force led detectives to 46-year-old Gig Harbor resident Elwood Anderson, and a search warrant was served on his home in July.

According to the State Patrol, the computers and digital media devices seized during the search contained more than 9,000 images of child pornography that Anderson had downloaded and shared.

Anderson has been booked into Pierce County Jail.
