Police: Armed kidnappers force man to commit check fraud

BURLINGTON, Wash. -- A pair of armed kidnappers forced a 32-year-old hostage to commit check fraud Wednesday afternoon, according to the Burlington Police Department.

According to police, the Bank of America on East Fairhaven Avenue called police about a man committing check fraud.

As officers were were in the process of arresting the man, they were informed the two men with him were holding him against his will and one of them had a gun.

All three men, one of whom did in fact have a loaded gun on him, were taken in for questioning, according to police.

In the end, the original man was released and the remaining two suspects were booked into Skagit County Jail for investigation of kidnapping and unlawful possession of a firearm.
