OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A 22-year-old homeless man was arrested last Friday afternoon after randomly assaulting a number of pedestrians, as well as the officers who tried to arrest him, according to the Olympia Police Department.

According to police, a number of people called 911 to report a man hitting people as they tried to walk around him near Fourth Avenue and Franklin Street around 1:40 p.m. The man reportedly punched at least four people, as well as the windows and walls of a number of businesses along Fourth Avenue.

Officers found the man sitting on the sidewalk outside the State Theater. When officers tried to arrest him, he punched two of them in the face and hit the third officer with his elbows, according to police.

Officers eventually subdued the man with the help of a Taser, and he was booked into Thurston County Jail for investigation of felony assault.
