SEATTLE -- A 26-year-old man was arrested Monday evening after dragging a 10-year-old girl into a wooded area of South Seattle and threatening to rape her, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, Dejon Robinson asked the victim for directions to the library, and then he grabbed her and dragged her into the wooded area, where he demanded she have sex with him or he would rape her.
The victim was able to escape and run from the woods. A passing driver saw the victim screaming for help and pulled over, calling 911 when he saw Robinson running off.
Officers found Robinson nearby and arrested him. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of kidnapping and rape. Tuesday afternoon, a judge set bail at $250,000 and set Robinson's next court appearance for Friday.
Editor's Note: Originally police stated the victim asked the man for directions, but have since issued a correction.
